- Deliver one‑to‑one and small group support, both in and out of the classroom, working closely with teaching and learning support colleagues
- Support students in line with their individual needs and/or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Assist students to fully participate in learning activities on an equal basis with their peers
- Support teaching staff in maintaining a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment
- Assist with student‑related administration, including updating individual learning support plans
- Ensure support provided is effective in meeting student needs and contributes to positive outcomes and progression
- Contribute to the development of the Learning Support team by attending meetings and training
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults
- Support students in the use of SEN specialist equipment where required
- Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks relating to students with additional support needs
- Experience of working with young people in an education or support setting (or the potential to develop into the role)
- Experience supporting individuals to achieve their goals
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to build positive working relationships with students and staff
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Minimum of GCSE Grade 4/C in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Level 2 NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting students with SEND
- Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Patient, supportive, and approachable
- Well organised and a collaborative team player
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn and develop
- Resilient and able to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Professional, respectful, and committed to maintaining high standards
- Passionate about supporting students to succeed
