SEN Teaching Assistant – £85.50‑£100 per day – Flexible days – Primary SEN units in Southampton, Hampshire.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you’ll work in a variety of primary schools across Southampton. These SEN units are tailored to support children with autism (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and complex needs. Each day brings a new experience as you support pupils in inclusive, nurturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and group support for children with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
  • Assist in implementing tailored learning and behaviour plans for pupils with a range of needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Support pupils’ emotional and social development, encouraging independence and confidence.
  • Adapt to new settings quickly, bringing energy and a proactive approach to each school you work in.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in SEN:
    Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly in autism and other complex needs.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a variety of school environments.
  • Strong Communication

    Skills:

    Confidence in working closely with staff, pupils, and parents to ensure cohesive support.
