Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in the Southampton area. This role involves working closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes within the classroom.
You will provide a mixture of 1:1 support and small‑group assistance, helping pupils who may require additional guidance with their learning, engagement, organisation, or classroom participation. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact in education.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 support and assist with small‑group learning activities
Support pupils during lessons, classroom activities, and daily routines
Help pupils remain engaged, focused, and confident in their learning
Assist teachers with classroom preparation and learning resources
Encourage positive behaviour and good learning habits
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people
Patient, supportive, and approachable manner
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Adaptable and responsive to different pupil needs
Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching, or education welcomed
Graduates looking to gain school experience encouraged to apply

Full‑time, term‑time
Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
Key Stages:
Primary / Secondary Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
Experience working with children desirable
SEN experience beneficial but not essential
Safeguarding training can be provided
