Reporting to the Progress and Engagement Team Leader, the college is seeking a well‐rounded and experienced individual to join our Progress and Support Tutor Team, a key part of the college’s wider student support services. This team plays an essential role in ensuring that every learner feels supported, motivated, and able to thrive during their time at the college. We are looking for someone who is genuinely committed to a holistic approach to student development, recognising that academic progress is closely linked to wellbeing, confidence, and personal circumstances.
The successful candidate will be able to build positive, professional relationships with students and offer high‐quality pastoral support, helping them navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
A central part of the role involves monitoring and supporting the attendance, engagement, and academic progress of approximately 180–220 students, organised into tutor groups. This includes planning and delivering weekly Tutorial sessions, ensuring that students receive meaningful guidance on topics such as personal development, study skills, employability, and addition, the postholder will provide targeted support for students who require additional help, whether due to personal issues, academic concerns, or other barriers to learning.
This will involve liaising with parents, carers, teaching staff, and external agencies where appropriate, ensuring that communication is clear and that students receive coordinated, effective support.
