Secondary LSA | Hackney | ASAP Start Are you a motivated graduate looking to gain valuable school-based experience as a Secondary LSA ? A well-regarded and inclusive secondary school in Hackney is seeking a dedicated Secondary LSA to join their team on an ASAP start . Secondary LSA About the School This established Hackney secondary school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong leadership and commitment to student achievement.

With high expectations across Years 711, the school provides a structured and supportive environment where students are encouraged to achieve academically while developing confidence and independence. Its dedicated SEND and SEMH provision ensures pupils with additional needs receive targeted support both within mainstream classrooms and through specialist interventions. Secondary LSA What the School Offers £444 £ 513 weekly via PAYE, inclusive of holiday pay ASAP start with a full-time, long-term contract through to July 2027 33 working hours per week, including a half-day on Fridays Regular CPD covering classroom practice, behaviour and safeguarding Opportunities to work alongside experienced teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams Potential pathways into teacher training following successful school-based experience Supportive and collaborative staff environment Secondary LSA What the Role Involves Supporting teachers across KS3 and KS4 in mainstream classrooms Providing 1:1 and small-group academic interventions Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs where required Helping students develop confidence, independence and engagement Working with teachers to monitor pupil progress and overcome barriers to learning Secondary LSA What the School is Looking For The ideal candidate will hold a 2:1 or First-Class degree from a leading UK university and have previous child-centred experience through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work or similar settings.

Excellent communication skills, patience and a genuine commitment to supporting young people are essential.
