SEN Teaching Assistant | Southwark Are you looking to build your experience supporting pupils with additional needs within a Southwark primary or secondary school? Supporting pupils to access lessons and the wider curriculum. Providing one-to-one and small-group learning support. Breaking down tasks and adapting explanations where required. Supporting pupils with communication, organisation and independence. Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement. Working alongside teachers to implement individual support strategies. Monitoring pupil progress and sharing observations with relevant staff. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
Have experience working with children or young people. Have a genuine interest in SEND and inclusive education. Be patient, consistent and approachable. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Be confident supporting pupils who may require additional structure or encouragement. Be able to build positive professional relationships with pupils. Be committed to helping pupils become more independent learners.
