We are looking to appoint candidates with successful experience of the following:
- Applicants with experience of working within an EYFS/Nursery or Pre school environment and/or Experience of working with children with SEMH needs, within a resource provision or special needs school would be highly advantageous.
- To support pupils with high levels of SEND
- Supporting pupils at the earliest stages of learning English as a second language or language acquisition
- Delivering small group interventions
- Working with professionals from agencies beyond the school e.g. Outreach Services
- A sound understanding of phonics
- Knowledge of an additional language would be welcomed.
Please note the essential requirements for this post include:
- NVQ Level 3 - Teaching Assistant or equivalent
- GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or equivalent
- Previous experience in a Primary educational setting supporting learners in and beyond the classroom
- A high standard of oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to relate well to children, parents and staff
Working hours:
3 days 8.25 - 3.30
1 day 8.25 - 4.15
1 day 8.15 - 4.15
Bevois Town is committed to safeguarding the children at our school. This post is covered by the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (exceptions) order 1975 because it is a post which involves working directly with young people. If shortlisted for interview, you will be required to declare whether you have any criminal convictions (or cautions or bind overs) including those which are "spent".
The successful candidate(s) will also be required to undertake a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, before commencing employment and an overseas check if there is any period of time spent living or working outside of the UK.

This role is a 1:1 role and the contract is dependant on the child, therefore should the child leave the school the role will end as per terms and conditions.
