Banister Primary School is seeking to appoint a reliable, caring and enthusiastic Midday Supervisory Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil during the lunchtime period.

As a Midday Supervisory Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring the pupil has a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime experience. You will support the child during mealtimes, encourage positive behaviour and social interaction, and help create a calm and inclusive environment where they can thrive.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with children, has a patient and nurturing approach, and is passionate about supporting pupils' wellbeing and development.

• Provide 1:1 supervision and support for a named pupil during lunchtime.
• Support the pupil with meals and lunchtime routines.
• Encourage positive behaviour, social interaction and inclusive play.
• Help maintain a safe, calm and well-structured environment.
• Support the pupil's emotional, social and personal development.
• Respond appropriately to minor incidents and report any concerns in line with school procedures.
• Follow the school's safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety policies at all times.
• When required, undertake general lunchtime supervisory duties across the school in support of the wider Midday Supervisory Assistant team.
• Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required to support the effective operation of the lunchtime provision.

• Has a calm, patient and caring approach.
• Enjoys working with children and supporting their development.
• Has previous experience working with children (desirable but not essential).
• Has experience of supporting children with additional needs or SEND (desirable).
• Demonstrates confidence in supporting positive behaviour.
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Has a positive attitude towards working within a school environment.
