Overview

Access are currently working with a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Transport Planning services. They are an award-winning and expanding practice, offering an excellent opportunity for a Transport Planner to contribute to a wide range of development and infrastructure projects.
Role Responsibilities- Management of small to medium-sized projects, including programme and budget control, with delegation and oversight as appropriate.
- Preparation, and occasional review, of technical documents including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Technical Notes, Travel Plans, and Access Appraisals.
- Application of transport modelling methodologies for trip generation, distribution, and impact assessment.
- Review and preparation of planning-related drawings, including visibility splays, vehicle tracking, and access design.
- Independent undertaking of site visits and provision of professional advice to support early project development.
- Attendance at project team, client, and Local Highway Authority meetings as required.
- Preparation of material for, and participation in, public consultation events.
- Development and maintenance of effective working relationships with architects, planners, and local authority officers.
- Preparation of fee proposals for small to medium-sized projects, with contributions to larger schemes as required.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in transport planning, preferably with progress towards professional membership (e.g. CIHT, TPS, ICE).
- Working knowledge of relevant design standards and guidance, with awareness of local and national planning policy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver work to a consistently high standard under time and resource pressures.
- Ability to manage workload effectively, working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with experience in the use of AutoCAD, TRICs, and transport modelling software.
