Exxon Mobil has operated in the U.K. for more than 135 years. We are best known today for the marketing of Esso fuels and Mobil 1 lubricants and for our petrochemicals. We have refining and chemical operations in the UK, operate the UK’s largest private pipeline network and retain a non-operated share in a number of fields in the North Sea.
We are developing involvement in lower-emission projects in the UK, building on experience in carbon capture and storage (CCS), hydrogen production and biofuels.

About you- Hold a minimum of 4 GCSEs, grades A-C/9-4 (achieved or predicted), including Maths, English Language and Science
- Be over the age of 18 on commencement of employment
- Have a demonstratable interest in Engineering – no experience necessary
- Have a willingness to work outside (potentially at height), in appropriate safety equipment (including breathing apparatus)
Successful candidates should also be able to demonstrate:
- A commitment to high standards & safety in the workplace
- Self-motivation and a desire to learn
- Effective communication & team working skills
- Numeracy skills and computer literacy

What you will doWe are recruiting for Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship opportunities across three trades — mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation — to join our team at our integrated Fawley Refinery and Chemical Complex in Hampshire, where you’ll encounter valves, towers, exchangers and pipes, offering opportunities to challenge and extend your skills daily. You will join a team committed to producing energy and chemical products that are essential to modern life, economic development and improved standards of living, while protecting our people, the environment and the well-being of communities where we operate.
