Job Description

At Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding (CCS) we manage the new ship acquisition process for all eight brands within Carnival Corporation. This includes from early ship definition, shipyard selection and contract negotiation, through to construction, commissioning and warranty and everything in between. In addition to building new ships, CCS plays an active role in supporting the existing fleet in operation, as well as identifying new innovations and emerging technologies to support the corporation’s sustainability goals.

The role of Senior LNG Technical Assurance Manager will lead and champion the ongoing implementation of LNG technical principles and fundamental competencies on board and ashore, provide operational and asset lifecycle management support as necessary to other parts of the organization, to ensure the continued safe operation of LNG-powered vessels in the fleet.

This position will form an addition to current existing centralized team supporting the introduction and safe operation of the new class of Natural Gas-powered ships within the operating lines that make up Carnival Corporation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the adoption of LNG within Carnival Corp & plc utilizing a risk‑based approach to provide major input for development and maintenance of operating and safety procedures.
  • Manage the development and implementation of LNG procedures for LNG fuelled vessels through collaborative engagements with stakeholders including Shipyard, OEMs, Integrators, Class, Operators, State and Port Authorities.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert input to ship and shore teams in terms of in-service use, planned and unplanned maintenance activities including dry docking and inspections. This will include specialist support in case of incidents/emergencies.
About You

Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and help us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you’ll also need:

  • Marine, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering Degree/Masters Degree
  • Experience with LNG cargo/fuel systems, engines and marine systems
  • Experienced onboard Master Mariner or Chief Engineer
  • Experience in utilizing electrical testing and measurement tools (DMM, Phase Verification, Motor Insulation, Ground resistance)
