Working Pattern:
Monday‑Friday, 5 days per week on site

We are seeking a safety‑driven Electrical Engineer to join a multi‑skilled engineering team on a large, high‑hazard industrial site in Hampshire. This is a critical role focused on the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of electrical systems within a demanding operational environment.
You will take ownership of electrical maintenance and compliance, working to strict safety standards while supporting the ongoing reliability of site infrastructure. This role suits an Electrical Engineer who leads by example, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a safety‑first culture.
Key Responsibilities- Safety & Compliance (Core Focus)
- Promote and uphold the highest health, safety, and environmental standards at all times
- Ensure all electrical work complies with legislation, site rules, and safe systems of work
- Operate within permit‑to‑work, isolation, and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures
- Inspect electrical installations to ensure compliance with statutory and site requirements
- Challenge unsafe behaviours and conditions, stopping work where safety is compromised
- Electrical Maintenance & Engineering
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance
- Diagnose faults and implement safe, effective repairs to minimise downtime
- Support installation, modification, and improvement of electrical systems and equipment
- Ensure systems operate efficiently and in line with manufacturer and site specifications
- Operational Support & Teamwork
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines and site operations
- Provide technical input and support to the wider engineering team
- Maintain professional communication with colleagues and stakeholders
- Continuous Improvement
- Demonstrate a proactive, solution‑focused approach with strong ownership of tasks
- Follow established procedures while contributing ideas to improve safety and reliability
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using site systems and Microsoft Office Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience working with electrical systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of electrical safety, compliance, and safe systems of work
- Ability to follow technical procedures with a high level of attention to detail
- Clear communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience on process‑critical or COMAH‑regulated sites
- Familiarity with permit‑to‑work systems and contractor control
- Experience using maintenance management systems
- Recognised electrical qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience)
- Electrical safety and compliance training (site‑specific training provided)
Ability to work safely in an operational industrial environment
Comfortable with standing, walking, climbing ladders/stairs, and handling equipment
Willingness to work within site rules and operational requirements
