Naval Architect

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced naval architect to join an expanding naval architectural company in Southampton. As a Naval Architect you will be expected to work on a range of projects, with your focus being on managing each element of a design project. This will involve working with a variety of vessel types, class societies and clients looking to develop new designs.

You will also work closely with our experienced team of naval architects, structural and production engineers.

• Minimum 3 years of experience
• A good understanding of Naval Architecture functions including but not limited to stability analysis, weight estimation, performance prediction.
• A good understanding of vessel scantling and structural design, technical specification drafting, FMEA and compliance engineering.
• Work with the sales team, meet with clients and develop design arrangements and specifications to meet their requirements.
• Work with the production team to provide clear concise supporting design information including but not limited to vessel structural arrangement and technical specification.
• Experience in Project Management
• Experience in surveying and performing trials/ tests on vessels.
• An experienced user in 2D CAD software (AutoCAD), 3D CAD (Rhino or solidworks)
• An experienced user in MS office
• An experienced user in Maxsurf suite.
