Fleet Manager Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Vessel Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and cost-effective management of assigned vessels. The successful candidate will be responsible for all technical and operational aspects of the fleet under their management, ensuring compliance with statutory, class and company requirements while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, environmental performance and operational efficiency.

The Vessel Manager will act as the primary shore-based point of contact for assigned vessels, working closely with onboard teams, service providers, classification societies and other stakeholders to ensure vessels are maintained and operated to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day technical operation of assigned vessels.

Act as the primary shore-based contact for all technical matters relating to assigned vessels.

Monitor vessel performance through regular reporting, technical reviews and KPI analysis.

Ensure the effective implementation of operational procedures, maintenance programmes and technical management systems.

Review vessel reports and follow up on technical, maintenance and operational issues in a timely manner.

Analyse maintenance, performance, reliability and cost data to support informed operational decisions.

Maintain the quality and integrity of data within the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and other management platforms.

Develop and implement technical and operational plans to ensure vessel compliance, efficiency and reliability.

Plan, organise and supervise repairs, inspections, surveys and dry dock projects.

Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring vessels are maintained to high standards while controlling costs.

Conduct regular vessel visits to assess technical condition, maintenance standards, crew performance, safety and environmental compliance.

Liaise with vessel management teams regarding work plans, repair requirements, spare parts, operational performance and budget management.

Investigate technical failures and equipment defects, implementing appropriate corrective and preventative actions.

Review and approve procurement activities for spare parts, lubricants, stores and technical services.

Support supplier evaluation and vendor management processes.

Work closely with classification societies, flag administrations, service providers and other external stakeholders.

Ensure vessels remain compliant with statutory, class and company requirements.

Participate in emergency response activities and provide technical support during vessel incidents and emergencies.

Manage technical damage reports, insurance-related matters and associated claims.

Support the appraisal, development, mentoring and performance management of engineering officers.

Carry out pre-purchase technical inspections and due diligence assessments as required.

Contribute technical expertise to vessel acquisition and fleet development projects.

Undertake additional duties and technical assignments as required. Key Performance Indicators On-time delivery of work and projects.
