Job Description
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of robust financial controls and processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial advice and insights.
- Monitor and review budgets, highlighting variances and providing recommendations.
- Ensure adherence to public sector accounting standards and policies.
- Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to queries.
- Contribute to process improvements within the Accounting & Finance department.
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records for the organisation.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Financial Accountant should have:
- A strong background in accounting
- Knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
- An ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A professional accounting qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience of balance sheet accounting.
- Demonstrable experience of communicating technical accounting principles to a non-finance audience.
- Ability to complete reconciliations involving manipulation of large volumes of data and associated problem solving.
- Good Excel Skills
