Job Description

Purpose of the role:
Deliver exceptional sales and business performance by acquiring, developing and maintaining highly proactive, long‑term client relationships. Protect Barclays reputation through sound risk decisions by managing the client group within their risk profile and within appropriate regulatory framework.

Accountabilities

Manage and grow client relationships and acquire new clients – identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs. Establish a sound understanding of the strategy of the clients in their portfolio through regular proactive contact, responding to client/prospect queries and requests, and identifying opportunities that will deliver long‑term commercial reward. Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid exposing Barclays to undue risk.

Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework, and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards. Service/group relationships – referrals to group colleagues.

Assume responsibility for advising and influencing decision making, contributing to policy development and operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions. Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well‑developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver work that impacts the whole business function. As a Wealth Planner, you will help clients shape their financial future through thoughtful planning and investment advice. You’ll work closely with new and existing clients to understand their long‑term goals and provide bespoke solutions that support their financial and lifestyle needs. You’ll build lasting relationships by listening with care, offering specialist guidance, and delivering planning strategies tailored to each client’s journey.

You’ll collaborate with the Wealth Acquisition team to support new client growth and ensure a smooth transition from prospect to invested customer, and work across teams to provide a consistent experience. You’ll use digital tools and platforms to enhance client engagement and stay connected to market trends. You will be encouraged to refine your approach, share ideas and contribute to a culture that values integrity, inclusion and high standards.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver bespoke financial planning and investment advice that reflects each client’s goals, values and risk tolerance. Provide personalised guidance on pensions, investment advice and UK taxation.
