Job Overview

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust offers a senior finance position within our dynamic Finance Team supporting a £1bn+ Acute Foundation Trust. The role involves leading strategic projects and supporting the finance team vision in a fast‑paced environment.

As Senior Finance Manager Strategic Projects & Capital, you will contribute to the delivery of our 5‑year strategy by providing financial expertise on complex strategic business cases and project‑managing high‑value initiatives across multiple services and organisations.

• Be the financial expert on innovative and complex strategic projects lacking precedent.
• Project‑manage development and implementation of complex strategic projects.
• Develop and implement effective governance and financial policies for new business models.
• Write financial sections of business cases for approval in various forums.
• Provide financial support and deputise for the Head of Finance – Strategic Projects & Capital.

• Masters Degree in Pharmacy
• GPhC registration
• Sound knowledge of a surgical or medical speciality acquired working within a suitable specialty
• Meets Foundation framework / GLF competencies
• Audit and evaluative work experience
• Sound understanding of healthcare priorities and political agendas
• Experience of teaching and tutoring

• Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience
• MRPharmS or equivalent
• Working towards RPS Advanced Core portfolio submission
• Training in medicines information
• Preparation of prescribing guidelines
