As an Assistant Team Manager, you will deputise for Team Managers, cover their responsibilities where required, and ensure that customer requests are completed within agreed timescales and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Drive service and process improvements while ensuring risk awareness and making relevant decisions.
  • Use operational management tools and visual management techniques to monitor performance.
  • Organise staff training and deliver feedback.
  • Conduct 1:1 sessions with team members to support ATM development and line‑management exposure in line with succession plans.
  • Support the Team Manager in engaging and motivating staff.
  • Deliver best practice and provide advice on internal and external business issues to recommend process, service and operational improvements.
  • Identify key risks, conduct root‑cause analysis, and incorporate findings into the risk framework and mitigation plan.
  • Liaise with internal business partners such as Risk and Finance to ensure compliance with policies and requirements.
Qualifications
  • Experience managing people in operational areas or proven experience in the Life, Pension or Investment industry.
  • Track record of driving continuous improvement activities and coaching others.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
  • CF1 and/or FA2 CII qualification desirable but not essential.
