Financial Controller

Chalk Hill Group are partnering exclusively with an internationally operating SME, based in Winchester, in their search for a Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take full ownership of the finance function within an established and growing business. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll be given a broad remit covering everything from day-to-day accounting and management accounts through to cash flow, VAT, payroll, year-end, statutory reporting and financial planning.

With operations across the globe, there's also an international element to the role, including intercompany accounting. What you'll be doing:
Taking ownership of the full finance function Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting Managing cash flow, credit control, VAT, payroll and reconciliations Overseeing year-end accounts, audit and statutory compliance Supporting budgeting, forecasting and business planning Managing intercompany accounting across the group Improving finance processes, controls and systems Acting as a trusted business partner to the CEO Your background will ideally include: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT Level 4 or through substantial relevant experience Proven experience managing a broad SME finance function Strong technical accounting and management accounts experience Good knowledge of UK VAT, PAYE and statutory requirements Excellent attention to detail and organisation The confidence to work autonomously and challenge where appropriate Savvy with financial systems, particularly Xero Strong communication skills with both finance and non-finance colleagues This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Financial Controller to take real ownership of finance, have direct access to the CEO and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the business.
