Are you looking for a role where safety is a genuine priority?
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join this rapidly growing Public Sector organisation. Based across the South West, this is a pivotal role for a professional who is passionate about accident investigations and building organisational capability, whilst moving beyond simple reporting to true learning and analysis.
In this position you will use your professional judgment to provide specialist advice based on findings, ensuring that every incident is an opportunity to improve our safety management systems and culture.
Key Responsibilities
* Expert Investigation:
Lead the development of industry-leading practices for investigating incidents, ensuring accurate severity identification and recording detail for future analysis.
* Coaching & Excellence:
Support and coach incident investigators to achieve professional excellence in the quality of their reports and findings.
* Trend Analysis:
Lead the analysis of incident causation data to produce meaningful conclusions and clear recommendations for the organisation.
* Culture Development:
Advance a "just and fair" culture across the organisation by sharing insights and learning from incident investigations.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a collaborative professional who can observe and investigate an incident, translating their findings into clear, actionable safety improvements.
* Qualifications:
You must hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate.
* Experience:
At least 5 years’ experience in HSE roles, with a proven track record of investigating complex incidents in a heavy-duty environment.
* Skills:
Deep understanding of Health & Safety regulations and the ability to apply "Just Culture" principles to investigations.
* Technical Knowledge:
Experience in applying Human & Organisational Performance principles or leading Learning Teams is a distinct advantage.
