This is an exciting opportunity to help grow a culture of continuous improvement as a Quality Improvement (QI) Coach. The role at the Academy of Research and Improvement, within Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, involves co‑designing and co‑delivering our QI training and workshop programme, supporting networks and ensuring the sharing of learning from QI.

This is a role for someone who thrives on inspiring change, using creativity to engage people, and enabling practical and accessible improvement approaches.

As an Academy, we are committed to community‑based research, innovation, and improvement that leads to better care for everyone. As a QI Coach, you will use your expertise in QI methodologies and approaches to support and coach individuals and teams in delivering a variety of QI initiatives. Working collaboratively with our patients, staff, and community organisations is pivotal to this role.

Main duties of the job

As a Quality Improvement Coach, you will:

  • Provide coaching, training, and advice in QI methodologies, project design, measurement for improvement, leadership, and change management to staff and services.
  • Co‑design, deliver and continually improve the Academy's QI training programme, ensuring content is high quality, up to date and accessible.
  • Work closely with patients, service users, carers and communities to enable partnership working.
  • Monitor and track outcomes from QI activity, providing reports and learning.
  • Support shared learning across the Trust through presentations, events, and communication channels.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings, peer supervision and development activities within the Academy.
  • Be a visible and approachable leader, championing continuous improvement.
