Seadown Equine Clinic in the New Forest is looking for apart-time Equine Nursing Assistant to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dedicated and supportive team of Equine Vets,Nursesand Reception staff.
We see a wide variety of cases and every day is different!
The successful applicant will have a strong equine background, with suitable experience and skills of handling and working with a variety of horses.
You must be punctual, proactive, hardworking andcanwork as part of a teamandindividually.
You will also have great interpersonal skills working and liaising closely with our clients.
This varied role involves the followingboth in the clinic in Hythe,Southamptonand anambulatorycomponent(afullUK driving licence is essential).
The position involves/requires:- handling patients for examinations and treatments
- assisting the Vetswith lameness workups,radiography,ultrasonography, dentistry, generalsurgeryand anaesthesia.
- general maintenance,cleaning and disinfectionof theequinehospitalenvironmentanda variety of specialist veterinaryequipment(full training will be provided)
- caring forany equineinpatients,feeding, grooming,mucking out and re-stocking of all clinical areas
- administrative and receptionisttasks/shifts- including liaising with clients on the phone and via email, booking appointments,assisting with insurance claim processes etc.
The hours are
08:00-17:00with a1-hourunpaidlunch break- fortwo to three days per week.
We can be flexible on which days are to be worked.
Salary will be in line with the National Minimum Wage.
Holiday entitlement – 6.6 weeks per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
