Job summary

The Drayton Surgery is seeking a Salaried GP to join our friendly and growing team for 4-6 sessions per week.

We are a large, well-established practice with a patient list of almost 24,500 patients, serving a diverse population across north Portsmouth. As a practice, we aim to provide safe, modern, patient-centred care whilst creating a working environment where clinicians feel supported, valued and able to enjoy their work.

12 Advanced Nurse Practitioners7 Practice Nurses4 Healthcare Support Workers3 Phlebotomists Alongside this, we benefit from a wide range of additional roles through our PCN including Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers, Mental Health Facilitators, Cancer Care Coordinators and Care Coordinators.

Main duties of the jobAs a Salaried GP, you will provide a mixture of:

Face-to-face consultations

Telephone consultationse

Consult reviews

There is a fair and equitable share of both:

Morning triage clinics

Afternoon duty clinics

These clinics are always worked alongside a clinical colleague, helping to share workload and provide peer support.

You will have your own patient list, with list sizes set proportionately lower than those of GP Partners based on the number of sessions worked. Patients remain free to see any GP within the practice.

The Drayton Surgery, Havant Road, Drayton Highclere Medical Centre, Cosham Supporting our clinical teams is a substantial and highly experienced administrative workforce including operations, patient services, prescribing, secretarial, reception, QoF and patient experience teams.

Minor Surgery Joint Injections Women's Health Palliative and End of Life Care All new salaried GPs are supported by a dedicated GP Partner Mentor, providing guidance, advice and support throughout their time with us.

General practice can be challenging, which is why we place significant importance on looking after each other. We make time to connect as a team, whether that is grabbing a coffee together each morning, sharing ideas and experiences, or through social events
