We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Customs Co‑ordinator to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of our customs team. The Customs Co‑ordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of customs declarations, ensuring all entries are compliant with regulatory requirements and company procedures. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple entries, and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and maintaining high levels of accuracy and service delivery.

Customs

Processing
  • Prepare and submit customs entries for import and export shipments
  • Ensure all entries are completed accurately and within required timelines
  • Validate key data including commodity codes, values, origin, and CPCs
  • Monitor entry progress and ensure timely clearance
Compliance & Accuracy
  • Ensure all entries comply with HMRC regulations and company procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all declarations
  • Identify and escrow discrepancies, errors, or missing information
  • Follow internal SOPs and compliance processes at all times
Workflow & Coordination
  • Manage daily customs workload to meet operational deadlines
  • Work closely with operations teams to obtain and validate shipment data
  • Support prioritisation of urgent and high‑profile shipments
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams
System & Data Management
  • Use customs systems (CDS, Descartes, internal platforms) effectively
  • Ensure all data is entered accurately and consistently
  • Maintain organised and up‑to‑date system records
  • Support data integrity and reporting requirements
Stakeholder Management
  • Liaise with internal teams regarding customs requirements
  • Support communication with clients on documentation and entry status
  • Assist with resolving operational or customs‑related queries
  • Escalate complex issues to the Customs Supervisor when required
