Sourcing Manager

We're looking for a Sourcing Manager for a transport public sector organisation, based in Reading or Milton Keynes (hybrid), on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £550 per day (Inside IR35, Umbrella). This is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend the office in Reading 3 days per week. The successful Sourcing Manager will lead sourcing activities for multi-million-pound, medium cost and business risk opportunities across complex spend categories.

You'll run the full process from business requirement through to contract signature, delivering commercial and contractual value in support of the Commercial & Procurement Director's savings targets. You'll work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders, implement approved Integrated Category Strategies, and manage a seamless transition into Strategic Supplier Management. You will need proven experience working with the following:
Deep sourcing experience with a demonstrable track record of savings delivery Negotiation and dispute resolution Contract law and financial management Driving value from complex, high-value sourcing opportunities Agile, cross-functional collaborative working Executive-level direct and indirect influencing in a complex, devolved organisation Complex problem-solving and a completer-finisher mindset You'll also need to be educated to Business or Economics degree standard or hold equivalent business experience.

Line management experience would be beneficial. Detailed knowledge of the UK Rail Industry, including procurement processes in a reclassified environment, would be a bonus. Interested?
