PermanentA global manufacturing engineering business requires a Materials Manager to join its Supply Chain function. The Materials Manager will be responsible for linking inventory control and production efficiency, managing a stores team and acting as an SAP subject matter expert across the Supply Chain function. This is an excellent opportunity for a materials, inventory or supply chain specialist to make a significant impact on operational performance, inventory optimisation and material availability, whilst developing their leadership capability within a highly collaborative environment.

Specific duties of the Materials Manager include:

Manage, train and motivate the Stores function ensuring accurate inventory control, replenishment and effective storage

Ensure availability of materials and components to support manufacturing requirements

Monitor and maintain inventory records in SAP Identify opportunities for inventory optimisation and continuous improvement across materials and stores

Track and report on KPIs in relation to; inventory accuracy, material availability, release times and operational efficiencies

Serve as an SAP subject matter expert across materials and stores - managing transactions, troubleshooting and ensuring data accuracy

Build strong relationships with stakeholders across;
Supply Chain, Procurement, Production and Logistics Materials Management applicants should meet the following criteria:

Previous experience in; materials management, inventory management, stores management or warehouse management

Previous experience using SAPAppreciation of production workflows, material release and inventory optimisation techniques

Leadership skills and the ability to coach, manage and develop teams

Adopts a data-driven approach

Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, FMCG or Food environment
