Job OverviewWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Cleaner / Cleaning Operative to join a busy and welcoming environment on a fixed‑term basis. The Leisure Centre Cleaner will play a key role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards across all facilities.
As a Cleaner / Cleaning Operative you will carry out routine and deep cleaning duties across gym areas, studios, changing rooms, and communal spaces, ensuring all areas remain clean, safe, and presentable for visitors and staff.
The Cleaner / Cleaning Operative will work both independently and collaboratively, supporting the wider facilities team while following health and safety procedures and maintaining excellent attention to detail. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous cleaning experience seeking a consistent part‑time role.
Duties- Clean Facilities Areas:
Maintain gym floors, equipment, studios, changing rooms, showers, and communal spaces - Maintain Hygiene Standards:
Ensure all areas meet high cleanliness and infection control standards - Restock Supplies:
Replenish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other consumables - Use Cleaning Equipment Safely:
Operate and store cleaning materials and chemicals in line with regulations - Inspect and Monitor Areas:
Identify and address spillages, hazards, and cleanliness issues promptly - Report Maintenance Issues:
Highlight faults, damages, or safety concerns to the appropriate team - Follow Health and Safety Procedures:
Adhere to COSHH and workplace safety guidelines at all times - Support Team Operations:
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a welcoming environment - Provide Customer Assistance:
Offer a polite and helpful presence to visitors when required
- Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or facilities support roles
- Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safe working practices
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable approach to work
- Positive attitude with strong organisational skills
- Experience with cleaning equipment and materials
- Good communication skills and a professional manner
