External Cleaning

Experteer Overview In this role you support a hospital cleaning service across QA Hospital, focusing on outdoor and indoor upkeep to maintain a safe, welcoming environment. You'll work weekdays in the afternoons, with training on large machinery and a comprehensive induction. The role offers NHS pension, generous leave, and uniform/PPE; DBS checks are required. It's a frontline cleaning position that contributes to patient and staff wellbeing within a busy hospital setting.

Pay / Benefits

• Collect and dispose of clinical and domestic waste from grounds, residences, and areas as directed
• Sweep hospital entrances, pathways, roadways, car parks, and other on-site areas
• Empty and replace bin liners
• Clear leaf litter and litter around the site
• Carry out minor maintenance tasks in hospital grounds with provided training
• Lift and transport furniture, stores, and stock as required (may be very heavy)
• Undertake other duties as needs of the service specify
• Move beds, chairs, and equipment during Major Incidents or Fire as directed

• DBS clearance required
• 3 years of employment and/or professional references
• Aware of infection control practices and hand hygiene
• Physical capability to lift and move heavy items
• Enthusiasm and flexibility are essential
• Ability to work on own initiative, sometimes unsupervised
• Polite and responsive to requests
• Good communication to defuse tense situations
