Position: Assistant Crew Planning Manager 13 month FTC

Role Overview

The Assistant Crew Planning Manager is responsible for annualised Officer planning for their designated team area, ensuring all vessels are properly resourced as per required complement levels, with appropriately qualified and experienced crew members.

This role acts as a subject matter expert for annualised Officer planning, ensuring that all Officers are fully utilised in conjunction with the SMT, Deck and Technical Officers Working Days Policy, working with Fleet Resourcing to ensure the fleet always has the required establishment for their areas of responsibility.

The Assistant Crew Planning Manager is required to respond to change, ensuring optimal efficiency of both planned and unplanned scheduling. You provide support to team members in managing unplanned activity and proactively escalating to the Crew Planning Manager and stakeholders.

You are required to build and create best practice for annualised Officer planning across the operations, working with peers to ensure that their teams are operating to the required standard. You identify areas of improvement, efficiency opportunities and imbed through regular training and supporting to develop consistency amongst the crew planning community.

This pivotal role will involve:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Stakeholders both onshore and onboard, to drive the required business outcomes.
  • Takes accountability for planning efficiency for their area, ensuring that teams are making cost effective decisions that balance annualised Officer experience with operational requirements.
  • Managing a team, a people leader who provides opportunities for professional development for their team members.
  • Support the development of effective reporting, dashboards, and RPAs to enable efficiency gains, including the continued maximisation of the current planning platform.

This role is positioned at CUK8 level within our organisation and is available on a full-time 13 month fixed term basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.

  • Experience of managing operational teams
  • Experience of managing a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong customer service experience

  • Familiarity of financial processes, analysis of deviations and input to annual budgets
