Technical Warehouse Manager
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Warehouse Manager to oversee the management of technical parts, equipment, and materials supporting marine and vessel operations. Based at our [port/site], you will play a critical role in ensuring that marine engineering teams have the right equipment, at the right time, maintained to the highest standards.
This role combines warehouse leadership with technical knowledge of marine components, spares, and systems, in a fast‑paced and safety‑critical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all warehouse operations supporting marine and vessel activities
- Oversee receipt, storage, and dispatch of marine technical spares, tools, and equipment
- Ensure correct handling and preservation of critical marine components (e.g., engine parts, electrical systems, hydraulics)
- Maintain accurate inventory control, including critical spares and minimum stock levels
- Manage and optimise warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking tools
- Work closely with marine engineers, procurement, and vessel crews to support operational needs
- Ensure compliance with marine, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., IMO, ISM Code where applicable)
- Lead, train, and develop warehouse personnel
- Conduct regular stock audits and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate logistics for urgent vessel requirements, including offshore or port-based deliveries
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and security within the warehouse
- Proven experience in a warehouse management role within a marine, shipping, or engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of marine technical equipment, spare parts, and inventory processes
- Experience supporting vessel operations, ship maintenance, or maritime logistics
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
- Confident using WMS, ERP systems, and inventory software
- Solid understanding of health & safety and regulatory compliance in a marine or industrial setting
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent operational demands
- Background in marine engineering, maritime logistics, or offshore operations
- Knowledge of classification society requirements or marine compliance standards
- Experience with hazardous goods handling and storage
- Forklift, crane, or lifting equipment certifications
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
