Key Responsibilities:
Managing the team :
Lead and develop the team, enabling them to meet operational objectives whilst complying with and enforcing company guidelines for safety and quality. Managing production activities :
Plan, direct and control production activities, ensuring fulfilment of operational objectives by maximising On Time Start (OTS) and On Time Finish (OTF). Developing preventative activities :
Enforce preventive measures to minimise occupational and environmental risks. Communication :
Facilitate effective communication within the team, ensuring clarity of operational objectives and expectations. Ensuring team qualifications/certifications :
Ensure team members possess requisite qualifications and certifications. Complying with Policies and Procedures :
Adhere to and enforce established procedures, policies, and systems. Identifying Risk :
Identify and mitigate potential risks affecting personnel, products, or equipment. Analysing Indicators :
Use relevant tools to analyse production, maintenance, and quality indicators, and prioritise improvement plans. Energise improvements :
Lead process and system improvement initiatives within the scope of responsibility. Energise meetings :
Conduct regular interdepartmental meetings to achieve maximum efficiency.
Job Requirements:
Experience in a manufacturing supervisory position. Knowledge of manufacturing management disciplines such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems. Strong IT skills including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Strong oral and written communication skills, able to communicate at all levels within the business. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to develop and motivate a high-involvement team.
Able to ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety policies. Ability to work with established Quality standards, processes and procedures. Desired Characteristics:
Knowledge of production/manufacturing operations. Familiarity with Six Sigma principles. Prior experience with regulatory agencies and their requirements. Understanding of the products, processes and customer requirements within the aerospace sector.
