Job Description
At Leonardo, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Material Controller. The Integrated Sensing and Protection business in Southampton is uniquely positioned as one of the world's top manufacturers of Infra‑Red detectors and communication systems. As a Material Controller you will control the flow of material within the Production environment in a timeframe that supports the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
Responsibilities- Organising and issuing materials to the manufacturing area
- Maintaining traceability of all production materials and finished goods
- Organising the return to vendor of faulty or incorrect materials
- Working with engineers to ensure build standard integrity is maintained
- Generating and managing works orders for new build and repair activities
- Ensuring material is available in line with the master production schedule
- Generation of shipping documentation
- Organising the processing of customer repairs
- Control and reporting of Government furnished assets
- Experience of planning and controlling materials in a manufacturing environment is desirable; comparable experience will also be considered
- Experience of SAP or similar manufacturing execution systems
This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
