CNC Turner - Fanuc | Aerospace | Contract (Inside IR35)

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turner with Fanuc control experience to join a leading aerospace manufacturer on a contract basis. This role is offered inside IR35.

Pay Rates

Early shift: £30.56 per hour umbrella
Late shift (20% uplift): £35.66 per hour umbrella

Shift Patterns

Early Shift
Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 14:15
Friday: 06:00 - 12:00

Late Shift
Monday to Thursday: 14:15 - 22:30
Friday: 12:00 - 18:00

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK, adhere to ITAR restrictions, and be able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance (BPSS).

Role Summary

The CNC Turner will manufacture high‑precision aircraft components in a variety of materials, working to detailed engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves setting and operating CNC machining centres to tight tolerances, ensuring components meet aerospace quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Role Responsibilities
  • Set and operate CNC machining centres producing compliant aerospace components
  • Load raw billets and monitor machining processes
  • Carry out self‑inspection using standard dimensional measuring equipment
  • Work from engineering drawings, route cards, and work instructions to tight tolerances
  • Complete TPM activities and maintain high standards of housekeeping around the machine area
  • Work to production schedules with minimal supervision
  • Attend and contribute to daily shop floor production meetings
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment to support delivery targets
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or completion of a recognised machining apprenticeship
  • Strong experience setting and operating CNC machining centres
  • Experience using Fanuc controls
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Understanding of in‑process verification and quality requirements
  • Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles
  • Effective communication skills with a proactive, team‑focused attitude
  • Willingness to work shift patterns, overtime, and changing production demands
