Manufacturing Engineering Technician £35-£40K This is a 12 month Fixed-term contract This role is focused within the production environment, ensuring complex electro-mechanical systems are built, tested and released to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through hands-on fault finding, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions to resolve production issues and improve yield, efficiency and product quality.

A key aspect of the role is supporting engineering teams in the qualification and implementation of new manufacturing processes, including the development and maintenance of structured process documentation. Working within the Operational Excellence team, this is a highly cross-functional role interacting with Production, Manufacturing Engineering and R&D/NPI teams to ensure products are delivered on time, to specification and to customer requirements.

The role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, problem solving, understanding complex systems and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Provide daily hands-on engineering support to manufacturing cells to sustain and improve output, quality and efficiency Support production lines through structured problem solving, ensuring effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions Participate in tiered production meetings, escalating and communicating key production issues to relevant stakeholders Support TPM activities including equipment maintenance coordination, servicing and calibration schedules Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to define and implement corrective actions and process improvements Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and R&D/NPI teams Assist with implementation of production process changes and continuous improvement initiatives Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, workflows and standard operating procedures Support improvements in yield, quality and overall production performance Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards at all times Required Experience Essential Experience in a manufacturing, production, engineering or equipment maintenance environment Practical, hands-on approach to engineering within a production setting Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and methodical approach to root cause analysis Ability to interpret engineering requirements and apply them in a manufacturing environment Competent IT skills for reporting, documentation and data handling Experience working in a fast-paced operational or production environment

Desirable Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement environment Exposure to cross-functional engineering and production teams

Experience with equipment maintenance, repair or calibration activities Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or process validation activities Qualifications Technical qualification in engineering, manufacturing or science discipline preferred Equivalent industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications Personal Profile Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Self-motivated with strong initiative and ability to work independently when required Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-changing environment Strong communication skills with ability to engage across all levels of the organisation Practical, hands-on engineer with a proactive and solution-focused mindset Able to translate engineering requirements into effective production solutions Diligent, detail-oriented and committed to high standards of quality and workmanship Collaborative team player who integrates well within cross-functional teams Why Join?
