This role reports to the Machine Shop Manager.
Location:
Woking, Surrey Workshop-based precision machining environment. PPE required at all times. Overtime and shift work may be required depending on workload. What You Will Be Doing Set, program and operate CNC turning machines Manufacture components to tight tolerances (typically within microns) Work with exotic materials such as Inconel, Titanium, Hastelloy, Duplex and other alloys Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds Conduct in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment Ensure all parts meet quality standards Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments Follow safety procedures This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.
Additional duties may be assigned as required to meet the needs of the business.
What We Are Looking For Proven experience as a CNC Turner Experience machining exotic materials and difficult alloys Ability to machine complex components to tight tolerances CNC programming experience Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T Understanding of tooling and machining strategies
Experience with inspection and quality processes Strong attention to detail Desirable Qualifications Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent Experience in aerospace, oil & gas or defence sectors Familiarity with CAD/CAM software Knowledge of lean manufacturing Personal Attributes Problem-solving skills Self-motivated Reliable and strong work ethic Commitment to continuous improvement Safety-conscious mindset What You Will Be Getting This is a full time, permanent position, 40 hours per week and the standard staff working hours are applicable
- Monday to Friday 07:00am - 3:30pm, with half an hour lunch break, with flexibility on the start and finish times in line with our client's core working hours policy. Overtime available when agreed and authorised in advance at 1.5 times basic salary Aviva private pension scheme, in line with Government legislation and guidelines.
