Job Description and Main ResponsibilitiesYou will be acting as a role model for nursing staff, encouraging effective working relationships and the development of a cohesive nursing team. You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Sister in the management of the ward on a daily basis ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
We are looking for individuals who are strong leaders, highly motivated and have excellent communication skills. The sister/charge nurse role requires a close working relationship with multi-professional teams to ensure that evidence-based quality care is delivered with compassion to every patient.

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
- Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
- Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
- Significant post registration experience / qualification / training, including experience and knowledge within relevant speciality
- Ward management experience
- Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
- Experience in an acute hospital setting
- Provide evidence of supporting / managing a range of learners in practice
- Provide evidence of supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
Desirable criteria
- Experience in handling adverse events and complaints
- Appraisal skills
- Act in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners / supporting challenges as needed
- Some insight into budget management
