Registered Nurse – Bupa Maypole Care Home, 99 Lower Northam Rd, Hedge End, Southampton SO30 4FS

Salary: £21.93 – £24.21 per hour

Contract:

36 hours per week (3 × 12‑hour shifts). Paid breaks and a £1,000 welcome bonus.

Ideal candidate: flexible with day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the well‑being of residents, ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are met.
  • Coach and guide the team, providing formal and informal teaching programmes for colleagues and other care professionals.
  • Carry out assessments and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans for each resident.
  • Monitor work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to relevant standards, policies and legislation.
Qualifications & Experience

Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin
. Key duties include:

  • Managing the unit, overseeing care, administering and ordering medication.
  • Reviewing and evaluating care plans, providing clinical guidance to the team and maintaining best practice.
  • Ensuring policies and standards are maintained to a high clinical standard.
  • Providing clinical guidance for Care Teams and support for all CQC tasks.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills; competent handover of clinical issues.
  • For night shifts: strong critical thinking, confidence, self‑reliance and the ability to remain calm in emergencies while working alone with limited support.
