Role Overview
We are looking for a Breast Care Nurse specialist to come and work with us for 21 hours per week. The Breast Care Nurse plays a vital role in delivering high‑quality, compassionate care to individuals affected by breast disease. Acting as a key point of contact throughout the patient pathway, the post holder provides specialist clinical support, information and emotional reassurance from diagnosis through treatment, follow‑up and survivorship.
Working as part of the multidisciplinary breast team, the Breast Care Nurse contributes directly to improving patient experience and outcomes by promoting informed decision‑making, coordinating care and advocating for patients’ needs.
The role supports organisational objectives by helping to deliver safe, patient‑centred services, reducing anxiety and ensuring care is aligned with national standards and best practice. The post holder reports to the Lead Breast Care Nurse and works in close collaboration with breast surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and allied health professionals. The role involves close teamwork within the Breast Care Nursing team and liaison with wider hospital and community services to ensure seamless, holistic care for patients and their families.
