Main Duties of the Job

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join a small, friendly and dedicated team within the Princess Anne Hospital as a Band 5 Staff Nurse working closely with the multi‑disciplinary team within the Early Pregnancy and Gynae Assessment Unit. We are looking for a part‑time, flexible employee who can support this service for a 6‑month secondment.

The role is varied, interesting and crucial to ensuring an excellent patient experience every step of the way.

The Early Pregnancy and Gynae Assessment Unit is a very busy nurse‑led outpatient clinic environment, currently available to patients between 8.30 am – 7 pm, Monday to Saturday. The service works closely with outpatient areas and with multi‑professional team members.

GAU/EPU has the remit to assess and advise women with complications arising in early pregnancy up to 15+6 weeks pregnant and women with acute gynaecological presentations.

The role includes participating in the care and management of women experiencing sensitive health issues, providing emotional and practical support to them and their relatives as appropriate.

The role includes an expectation to undergo training in expanded practices that will ultimately enable you to undertake a full assessment of patients.
