This is an exciting opportunity to join our team. We are a large multi-disciplinary team, including 2 Consultant Occupational Health Physicians, a Lead OH Nurse, Operations Manager, Speciality Trainees, 12 OH Nurses, Wellbeing Practitioners, IT and administrative support.

The successful applicant will be involved in a wide range of Occupational Health activities as well as overseeing the day-to-day activities of the band 5 Occupational Health Staff Nurses to help staff remain healthy, safe and able to perform their roles effectively. The post holder will work closely with the Lead Occupational Health Nurse, on a range of operational and clinical matters.

There will be participation in clinical audits, projects and relevant research within Staff Health and Well-being.

• The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-today activities of the band 5 Occupational Health staff nurses.
• Promote and maintain high standards using teaching, audits, and maintaining up to date-evidence based practice.
• Promote and participate in trust wide and department specific initiatives such as the annual flu campaign.
• Participate in the day to day clinical and administrative work of the department including immunisations, venesection, management of sharps or contamination incidents, hand/dermatitis assessments and outbreaks.

• Registered Nurse – current registration with NMC
• Post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse, demonstrating continued professional development, short courses, NMC revalidation and application of clinical skills within practice
• Experience working within an Occupational Health (OH) setting, with an understanding of the scope and function of Occupational Health services
• Experience of undertaking Occupational Health consultations, including assessing fitness for work, providing evidence-based advice, and producing clear and concise reports
• Knowledge of legislation relating to Occupational Health, health and safety, and relevant aspects of employment law, with the ability to apply this in practice
• Experience in delivering workplace immunisation and vaccination programmes, including risk assessment, administration, documentation, and follow-up, in line with current guidelines and best practice
• Experience in venesection
• Experience in pre-employment screening
• Experience in managing sharps / contamination incidents
• Experience of teaching and supporting new staff members
• Evidence of:
  Supporting / manage a range of learners in practice & Supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice

• Specialist post-registration qualification in Occupational Health (OH) or on part 3 (OH) of the NMC register
• Leadership or management course
• Experience of working in NHS OH department
• Understanding of the role of the Health and Safety Executive and UK Health Security Agency including how the role is linked to the work of these bodies
