Sister/Charge Nurse – Ward D2 (Heart Failure)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the team on Ward D2, Heart Failure, as a permanent Band 6 Sister/Charge nurse.

Ward D2 is a specialist cardiology ward with a strong focus on heart failure and caring for patients with a range of acute and chronic cardiac conditions.

We are looking for nurse with excellent clinical and communication skills who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care, leading teams, and supporting the development of others.

As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide day-to-day clinical leadership, coordinate the ward area, and work closely with the Ward Leader, Matron and multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective and compassionate care.

We are looking for an experienced nurse with a positive and proactive leadership style who thrives in a team environment. You should be passionate about developing and supporting staff.

• Experience coordinating and managing clinical areas, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• A commitment to quality improvement, professional development and the ability to support the learning and development of staff

• Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
• Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
• Significant post registration experience / qualification / training, including experience and knowledge within relevant speciality
• Ward management experience
• Experience in an acute hospital setting
• Provide evidence of supporting / managing a range of learners in practice
• Provide evidence of supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice

• Experience in handling adverse events and complaints
• Appraisal skills
• Act in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners / supporting challenges as needed
• Some insight into budget management
