We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team at Pool House Vets, Lichfield Hospital.

Pool House Vets is a busy, well-equipped veterinary hospital with 4 branches, providing our own out-of-hours care for clients alongside out-of-hours support for 10 other local practices. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVN who enjoys emergency and inpatient care, thrives in a supportive hospital environment, and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care.

Our hospital has separate kennels, cattery and isolation facilities, with a dedicated night team of 3 night nurses and 2 night vets working on a rota basis. You’ll be joining a supportive team within a modern hospital setting, caring for hospitalised patients and assisting with emergency cases throughout the night.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

  • Average 30.33 hours per week
  • Rotating shift pattern of 4 nights on, 7 nights off, followed by 3 nights on, 7 nights off
  • Job share applications may also be considered for two part-time nurses

General Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of nursing care to hospitalised patients overnight
  • Monitor anaesthetics and post-operative cases
  • Assist with emergency admissions and urgent patient care
  • Support the veterinary team throughout the night
