Capgemini Engineering is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support one of our key clients at their Portsmouth facility. The successful candidate will lead the recovery of a critical build area currently facing a high rate of non-conformances and delays.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving quality excellence, restoring process discipline, and coaching our clients' engineering and production teams on effective quality management processes and recovery planning. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact consultancy position suited to someone who thrives in complex, high‑reliability engineering environments.

- Lead and facilitate daily stand‑ups and concession flow sessions with Capability Leads.
- Operate confidently in a high meeting load environment, including capturing actions, taking notes, and following up with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee and maintain documents on a tracker board, Business map, supporting client and Capgemini workflow.
- Accountable for disposition and turnaround time of non‑conformance submissions (Concessions, Deviation Permits, DARs, TADs, FPAs and other QNs).
- Ensure all submissions are progressed efficiently through completion, maintaining momentum and visibility.
Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace, defence, space, or other high‑reliability manufacturing sectors.
Direct familiarity with Defence and Space processes and systems, particularly NC management tools.
Strong understanding of space industry manufacturing, including satellite build, cleanroom operations, and high‑reliability assembly practices. Demonstrated capability to lead recovery activities and stabilise problematic production areas.
