About Crow’s Nest

Crow’s Nest is a new hospitality venue offering American-inspired comfort food in a relaxed, informal setting. The focus of the operation is to deliver consistent service standards, maintain a welcoming environment, and provide a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for all guests. As a newly established site, operational procedures and service expectations are continuing to develop, and the role will contribute to maintaining and embedding these standards.

Role

Summary

The Café / Front of House Assistant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of all front of house operations, leading the FOH team to deliver a consistently high standard of service. The role oversees service delivery, team performance, guest experience, and compliance, working closely with the Chef, Operations Director and wider leadership team to support the smooth and efficient running of the site.

This is a hands on leadership role, requiring a visible presence during service and the ability to lead by example.

Key Responsibilities Service & Operations
  • Support the delivery of day to day FOH operations in all food and beverage areas.
  • Assist in setting up, operating, and closing down service stations and dining areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment throughout all guest-facing spaces.
  • Assist with basic food and beverage preparation tasks as directed. Supporting the chef in the kitchen when needed.
  • Training new team members.
  • Ensure cleanliness of FOH, Kitchen and customer areas. Including outside space.
Guest Experience
  • Provide attentive, professional, and friendly service to guests at all times.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to guest requests, ensuring issues are communicated or escalated when necessary.
  • Maintain strong awareness of service standards and contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Team Support
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support smooth and efficient service.
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen and bar teams to maintain accurate and timely order flow.
  • Follow instructions from Supervisors and the F&B Manager to ensure consistency across operations.
Stock & Compliance
  • Assist with stock-related tasks including checking deliveries, monitoring supplies, and supporting inventory routines.
  • Creating and controlling employee hours and rosters.
  • Ordering responsibility with finance and revenue weekly report knowledge.
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety policies are followed at all times.
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly to management.

The Crow’s Nest is a 7 day a week operation and flexibility is needed to support team members and the business throughout the year.
