Pay & Hours
Our Skilled Baker rate of pay starts from £13.38 an hour; this increases to £14.59 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we also have opportunities for this.
AvailabilityWe schedule your contracted hours within the following availability windows. You will receive a 3‑week notice of exactly when your shifts will be.
- Sun: 03:00 – 13:00
- Thu: 12:00 – 19:00
- Fri: 12:00 – 19:00
- Sat: 10:00 – 18:00

- Adhere to all food hygiene, safety and allergen guidelines at all times.
- Be passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within your department and store.
- Apply the training received, so we all work safely, effectively and serve our customers brilliantly.
- Check emergency stop buttons and ensure all machinery is safe before operation; report any issues to the Shift Leader/Team Manager.
- Dispose of waste responsibly, following food waste and recycling routines.
- Understand your store’s performance and what we need to do together to drive service and sales, reduce waste and shrink, and deliver profit.
- Live our values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow our policies.
- Work across the store in our service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
- A passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile and serving them with pride.
- The ability to build rapport with customers, ensuring they leave the store having experienced a great shopping trip.
- Initiative to make decisions that are right for our customers.
- Can work independently and well within a team, communicating openly with others.
- Builds relationships with colleagues, creating a team spirit and celebrating success.
- Be on time, well presented and ready to be a brand ambassador.
