Location: Southampton, UK

Pay Rate: £15.60 per hour

Shift Pattern: 42 hours, 4 on / 4 off days and nights

The Security Supervisor will play a pivotal role in managing security personnel and addressing daily operational issues related to the contract during their shift. The Security Supervisor will serve as a central point of contact for service delivery development, performance measurement, and centralised reporting, embodying the core Securitas values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. This key position ensures the operational success of the team by fostering a strong relationship between the client and Securitas, with the Security Supervisor providing consistent operational supervision on a 24/7 basis.

Job Description
  • Ensure all personnel under supervision have completed the required site training and hold a valid SIA licence or LDM, in line with industry standards.
  • Accurately produce and manage staff rosters for all direct reporting officers, ensuring adequate cover for holidays, sickness, and absences.
  • Engage with Security Officers at least monthly to monitor performance, maintain positive employee relations, and ensure any coaching, counselling, or investigations are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage the appearance and behaviour of all security personnel, taking appropriate action where necessary in line with company standards.
  • Actively promote staff recognition and encourage nominations for awards.
  • Ensure assignment instructions and site documentation are kept accurate and up to date at all times.
  • Report and document all incidents in compliance with customer and company policies and procedures.
  • Support the Security Management Team by contributing to the development and sharing of best practice, and by using systems and tools to enhance service delivery.
  • Plan, develop, and implement staff training programmes, including routine duties and emergency response procedures.
  • Monitor and report faults or issues with security-related equipment promptly.
  • Maintain operational competence in access control systems, CCTV, detection systems, and alarm systems, ensuring effective monitoring and reporting.
  • Participate in company training and development activities to support continuous improvement in performance standards.
  • Act as the first point of contact during the shift for all security-related queries, resolving complex issues using professional knowledge and experience, and escalating security practice complaints to the Security Management Team when appropriate.
  • Provide support to the Site Manager by assisting with reasonable and practical operational requests as required.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to the Securitas Core Values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness, while maintaining a proactive approach to identifying risk, prioritising safety, and complying fully with company policies, procedures and training requirements.
