HGV Night Shift Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter – Southampton – Nights 18:00-06:00 – Up to £52,(Apply online only) + Overtime

Up to £52,(Apply online only) plus overtime at 1.5x

48 per week
Shift: 4 on 4 off, nights 18:00 – 06:00

The Role
We are seeking experienced HGV Technicians, Mechanics, and Fitters to join our busy night shift workshop in Southampton. You will be responsible for servicing, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and road-ready. The night shift and overtime pay make this an ideal opportunity to maximise earnings while building your career in a modern workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician
- Perform servicing and preventative maintenance on HGVs and trailers
- Carry out major and minor mechanical and electrical repairs
- Diagnose faults and plan repair work
- Complete relevant documentation and warranty claims
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and stock control
- Provide support for roadside breakdowns when required
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician
Essential
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI)
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter
- Ability to identify worn and faulty components to DVSA standards
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience with diagnostics and advanced repair work
- Flexible approach and good time management skills
- Team player with strong attention to detail
