Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Safelives accredited ‘Leading Light’ Independent Domestic Violence Advisory (IDVA) service – as part of Southampton City Council’s response to high-risk victims of domestic abuse.
We are looking to recruit 3 FTE IDVA case holder posts, one is permanent and the other two are funded 31/03/27 either secondment or contract (extensions subject to funding).
You will help to provide a proactive, responsive service to victims of domestic abuse by delivering a range of services including advocacy, assessing risk, risk management and safety planning as appropriate.
It is essential for you to have an understanding of the needs of clients who are experiencing domestic abuse in a trauma informed way. Alongside this, you will need to have an understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse, strong crisis management skills with experience of planning and delivering on diverse caseloads and of working within a multi-agency environment and organisations.

Responsibilities- Deliver a proactive, responsive service to victims of domestic abuse including advocacy, risk assessment, risk management and safety planning as appropriate.
- Work with clients in a trauma informed way and understand the needs of those experiencing domestic abuse.
- Apply understanding of domestic abuse dynamics, crisis management, and multi-agency collaboration to manage diverse caseloads.
- Engage within a multi-agency environment and organisations to support victims.
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches for clients experiencing domestic abuse.
- Understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse with strong crisis management skills.
- Experience of planning and delivering on diverse caseloads.

- Salary:
The salary band for this role is £41,771 to £46,141. The starting salary is £41,771 with annual progression through the salary bands. - Excellent local government pension with 16.8% employer contribution.
