Location:
Southampton
Salary: £26,000 – £29,000 per annum
Hours:
37.5 hours per week
Contract:
Fixed-Term Maternity Cover until January 2027
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker to join a Family Safeguarding team supporting adults and families affected by domestic abuse across Southampton.
The role focuses on preventing domestic abuse by providing specialist outreach support, safety planning, and advocacy to individuals and families within the community.
Main Purpose of the Role
* Provide practical and emotional support to adults and families affected by domestic abuse
* Carry out risk and needs assessments and develop tailored safety plans
* Empower survivors to make informed choices and increase their safety and independence
* Work collaboratively with safeguarding professionals and partner agencies
* Support clients to remain safely within their current or new accommodation
Responsibilities
* Deliver outreach support within a trauma-informed framework
* Advocate on behalf of clients with statutory and non-statutory agencies
* Maintain accurate records using secure case management systems
* Participate in multi-agency meetings and safeguarding processes
* Provide advice, information, and guidance to clients and professionals
* Promote awareness of domestic abuse and available support services
Requirements
* Previous experience within domestic abuse, safeguarding, or family support services
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management
* Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
* Excellent communication and partnership-working skills
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable
