What you will do:

  • Support the Team Manager in the oversight and management of complex cases within the Duty and Children in Care service.
  • Provide reflective supervision and guidance to social workers, including newly qualified staff and agency practitioners.
  • Ensure timely decision‑making in relation to referrals, assessments and care planning in line with statutory timescales.
  • Monitor performance, quality of practice and compliance with Children Act requirements and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Chair strategy discussions, case conferences, and planning meetings where required.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work degree or equivalent
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Registration & Compliance:

  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Sound knowledge of Children Act 1989 & 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children and relevant statutory guidance
  • Understanding of care planning regulations and corporate parenting responsibilities
